The essence of translational medicine is raising questions in clinical work. Research results should be translated quickly toward clinical application, combining its basis with clinical science. It involves multidisciplinary cooperation to take advantage of different disciplines. Critical care medicine is a rising discipline which takes the dysfunction of visceral organs in the whole body as a main therapeutic direction and based on the pathological and physiological disorder of diseases, attaching great importance to the patients as well as the correlation among different organs. Meanwhile, critical care medicine focuses on the intersection of various disciplines. Translational critical care medicine bridges the gap between critical care medicine's research and clinical practice, as well as breaking the inherent barrier between basic medical research and development, clinical practice and public areas of new technology and medicine, and eventually building a more direct and effective relationship between them. The publication of the Journal of Translational Critical Care Medicine shows the effective combination of translational medicine and critical care medicine, which helps to promote the fast development of clinical practice and fundamental research and develop the important connotation of patient services, study, and exploration as well as innovation, leading the magazine to play an important role in the areas of industry for its guide, problem-solving, declaration, and progress. Based on this, this journal introduces new progress in the field of critical care medicine and concentrates on the development of clinical practice, preclinical medicine and translational critical care medicine at home and abroad. The publication traces the hot topics of medicine and highlights the application of new technologies and methods of preclinical medicine and computerized information technology in the field of critical care medicine. This journal contributes to promote the development of disciplines and build the academic exchange platform, and aims at improving the quality of service delivery of critical care medicine.
With the professional spirit of excellence, we will strive to grow translational critical care medicine together. Finally, with great appreciation for the people who have worked hard for the initial issue of Magazine of Translational Critical Care Medicine, we hope to continue their excellent work.
